The American Academy of Environmental Medicine presents Molds, Mycotoxins and Human Health

The purpose of this workshop is to educate clinicians on the nature of exposures in water damaged buildings and the mechanisms by which these exposures can lead to serious, often debilitating symptom and to review treatment approaches that have been found to be effective in alleviating symptoms. The workshop will include experts in the field of mold and mycotoxins including toxicologists, neuropsychologists and treating physicians from multiple specialties.

Topics covered will include the complexity of biocontaminants, the evaluation and treatment of illness including diagnosis and treatment of neurocognitive symptoms, chronic fatigue, fungal infections, pulmonary and sinus disease, genetic and metabolic factors contributing to illness as well as the role of glutathione in treatment of these illnesses.

  • Evaluate new concepts and treatments related to exposure to molds and mycotoxins to help better diagnose and manage patients.
  • Educate patients in appropriate avoidance measures.
  • Identify the primary categories of toxins present in the environment, and interpret how their mechanisms of action may impact human health.
